Avi Schechter
ADHD Life Coach, EmpowerMint Coaching, LLC
Hi! I’m Avi, I use they/them pronouns. I’m an ADHD Life Coach, and an AuDHDer who is white, transgender, genderqueer, queer, chronically ill and disabled. I offer 1-on-1 virtual coaching for adults. I focus on working with the queer community and with individuals from other marginalized communities, and am open to all. I have experience in coaching fellow chronically ill and disabled folks, late-diagnosed ADHDers, students, and folks who are building and organizing communities. I coach from a place of kindness, curiosity, and frank authenticity. I have 10+ years of experience in coaching and training with diverse learners.
I enjoy Star Trek, cats, knitting, house plants, and brains – but not in the zombie sense! Rather, starting with my own brain, I’ve explored how communication, processing, and learning are unique for everyone. I especially nerd out about how ADHDers communicate, think, and think about thinking (metacognition). I enjoy meeting clients where they are, and seeing where they want to go. Let’s explore!
Education, Training & Certifications
In 2024 and 2025 I trained with the ADD Coach Academy, and have 100+ hours of ADHD coach training. Since then, I have spent over 75 hours of coaching folks from various backgrounds. I am taking on new clients, and am accruing coaching hours toward ADDCA, PAAC and ICF certifications. I hold a BA in Holistic Psychology.
I am always growing, and actively continue to educate myself around ADHD, Autism, disability justice, dismantling systems of oppression, communication, and many other subjects. What’s your favorite article or source on these subjects? I’d be glad to check it out and chat!
