Laura Heidel
Ph.D., ADDCA Coach in Training
I am a psychologist and have been an academic coach and a learning center director at a university for 20 years.
During that time I have assisted many adults with ADHD-related issues. I read books, attended conferences, gave presentations, and gave ongoing workshops- all about ADHD- and considered myself an expert. However, it was not until I began to pursue ADDCA (Attention Deficit Disorder Coach Academy) coaching certification that I began to reach my potential as an ADHD coach.
I learned about the importance of strengths.
I also learned that you are the expert in the coaching relationship, and not the coach. When you and the coach realize this, it leads to lasting change, because the changes come from inside of you and are not imposed by someone else.
To help you become the expert, I will ask thoughtful questions to elicit your self-reflection.
